Conservative party choose Tony Caldeira for Liverpool City mayoral candidate

Tony Caldeira has been chosen as the Conservative candidate in the Liverpool City mayoral election.

The local textile businessman, who lives in Liverpool, says his political experience stands him in good stead to take on the challenging new role.

He will face Labour's candidate Steve Rotheram to become the Liverpool City Region's mayor.
