Boy racers smashed into car before fleeing the scene

A man has told of the horrific moment the blue BMW he was driving was involved in a smash in Rivington, Lancashire, in which the other party fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Polo.

Philip Mosscrop, 23, also suggested the culprits could have been drinking as there was lager cans strewn across the road.

Philip posted an appeal on Facebook along with pictures of the smash that happened last Wednesday evening, August 17, on Rivington Road near the Black Dog pub in Rivington, Lancashire.

He said that a red Hyundai coupe smashed into his car after it was racing with the silver Polo, and has received neck and back injuries as a result.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police confirmed the smash but didn't say whether the culprits were indeed drunk or uninsured.
