Dogs Trust names two hounds after Olympic champions
Dogs Trust Manchester has named two homeless hounds after gold medal-winning Team GB cyclists Laura Trott and Jason Kenny, in the hope that it will help them to ‘Rio’-lise their dreams of winning a loving home of their own.
Eight-year-old crossbreed Laura and seven-year-old crossbreed Jason are energetic bundles of fun who adore lapping their carers around the garden as they chase after their favourite toys.
While they may not have the talents of their namesakes when it comes to zooming around the Velodrome, they more than make up for it with their ability to chase a ball for hours, and their boundless enthusiasm for daily walks.
The super fit duo are currently being cared for by staff at the rehoming centre until they are ready to cross the finish line into homes of their own.
Staff hope that they will soon be on a winning streak, just like their namesakes, and that they can strike gold by finding their dream home.
