Police appeal for information in allegation of rape case
Detectives from the Merseyside Police’s Unity team are appealing for information to assist with an investigation into an allegation of rape.
Kenishka Perera, 47 years of Calderwood Park, Netherley has been charged with a total of 12 offences, including Human Trafficking, Rape, Sexual Assault and Sexual Touching. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 5, at an address in Prescot.
Officers were called, when a 19-year-old woman reported that she was assaulted as she slept after a night out in St Helens town centre.
Police are particularly keen to trace a taxi driver who collected the suspect and the victim from St Helens Town Centre, North John Street at 12.16am on Sunday, June 5, as he may be able to assist with enquiries.
The taxi is described as a dark coloured new style Hackney, similar to a Peugeot Euro taxi.
