Police appeal after three shootings in two days
Police are appealing for information following a number of firearms incidents in North Manchester over the last few days.
Between Sunday and Monday evening, there have been three firearms discharges in Harpurhey and Crumpsall.
At around 11.20pm on Sunday, August 7, police received several reports of a shooting at a takeaway on Rochdale Road, Harpurhey.
When police attended they found a 27-year-old with gunshot wounds to his leg and torso who was taken to hospital.
The man underwent surgery for his injuries and is now in a stable condition.Police recovered a shotgun from the scene.
At around 8.05pm on Monday, August 8, police were called to reports of gun shots being heard on Crescent Road, Crumpsall.
Officers attended and recovered a shotgun and handgun.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and remains in police custody for questioning.
At around 10.30pm on Monday, Aiugust 8, police were called to reports of gun shots being heard in Harpurhey.
Officers attended and discovered damage consistent with a firearm discharge to the front of the door of an address on Derville Walk.
Fortunately, the occupants who were inside the address at the time were unharmed.
Police have launched investigations into the incidents and enquiries into all three are ongoing, with armed response vehicles on patrol in the area to provide reassurance.
