Police appeal after attempted abduction in Manchester

Police are appealing for information after the attempted abduction in Manchester on Monday evening, August 1.

It happened at around 5.45pm in Chorlton when a boy, 8, was playing hide and seek with his friends at the water park on Maitland Avenue.

A car, which has been described as a grey Toyota 4x4 with tinted windows, parked nearby while a woman in the back tried to get the boy to come over.

The boy is believed to have approached the vehicle to hear what the woman was saying. She asked him if he wanted to see some puppies before grabbing his top and attempting to drag him into the back of the car.

The boy fought back and managed to pull away and run off with his friends.

It is thought there were two men in the front of the vehicle. They have been described as white. The woman is described as white and wearing a bobble hat and sunglasses.
