The writer behind The Simpsons says he wants to swap life in LA for a new one...in Salford.
Josh Weinstein confessed his love for Salford and Manchester as he collected an honorary doctorate from the University of Salford .
The award-winning writer praised the spirit of the cities as ‘remarkably similar to the spirit of the Simpsons’ and said he even planned to move here.
Addressing graduates at the ceremony on Tuesday, he said:
Weinstein, who also penned scripts for Seinfeld and Futurama, proceeded to give graduates eight pieces of career advice - many inspired by Homer Simpson himself.
They included tongue-in-cheek tips and choice lines from The Simpsons such as ‘never try at anything’ and ‘Be Lisa Simpson.’
Weinstein, who received an honorary doctorate of arts, added:
Weinstein is the official patron of Salford International Media Festival and has worked on projects such as CBBC’s Strange Hill High, created in Altrincham.
