Complaints after Rihanna concert is heard 10 miles away
Residents in Manchester have complained on social media about the noise from Rihanna's concert last night at Emirates Old Trafford.
Many took to Twitter and Facebook to complain about being able to hear the Bajan singer miles away all over Greater Manchester.
Jeannette Davidson from Failsworth, around eight miles from the concert said: "The noise is ridiculous. We are miles away and can still hear the whole thing. The windows are closed too and it’s still coming through into the house."
She added: “I have to be up just after 6am and this is going to keep me up. I have tried contacting the ground to complain but there’s nobody answering. I will be calling them tomorrow though.
“I’m shocked that it’s this loud so far away. I feel sorry for the people who live right by it. They got a free concert whether they wanted one or not.”
Karl Bonworth said he could hear the music ten miles away.
Twitter user @Jamiemavani97 wrote: “Rihanna’s allowed to play music that can be heard from 25 minutes away but my mum said I can’t have the TV volume louder than 10.”
But it wasn’t all bad reviews Lynsey Porter, from Droylsden, said: “It’s all over my newsfeed that people all over can hear it - not in a bad way I think it’s great! Wish I had got tickets must be one hell of a concert inside!”
