VIDEO: Driver goes wrong way on M60
Dashcam footage has emerged of an elderly man driving the wrong way on the M60 motorway on Bank Holiday Monday evening, May 30.
Steve Gait, who caught the footage on his dashboard camera, said: “I flashed my headlights and blew my horn. It made no difference to him. He was driving at about 45 to 50mph.”
The car joined the motorway at Cheadle before it collided with two other cars five miles up the road at Carrington.
The driver, a man in his 80s, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.
Police said they received more than 20 calls from motorists and passengers concerned about what was happening. Many said they had to swerve out of the way. Officers said the four people involved in the collision suffered only minor injuries.
