Police search house for three days in Oldham mystery
Police have spent three days carrying out an extensive search at a large detached house in Oldham.Officers have been stationed at the house known as Lake View, on Ashton Road, in Failsworth , since Saturday afternoon.
The property has been cordoned off and officers are standing guard while detectives carry out a search of the house.Forensics officers and a tactical aid unit were still continuing their investigations at the house on Tuesday morning.
A police sniffer dog could be seen scouring the grounds and gardens surrounding the large detached house.Residents have reported seeing officers digging in the garden area of the property - which is situated close to the scenic Daisy Nook Country Park.
A rubbish skip, large sacks of soil and dirt could be seen in the front garden of the property, while digging appears to have taken place to the rear of the house. It is not yet clear if this is related to the police activity.
Neighbours and dog walkers passing the property said there has been a police presence in the area since Saturday afternoon.
One lady said residents had been left in the dark about why there is such a heavy police presence on the largely residential road.
