£3m cannabis farm found in Liverpool

A large-scale cannabis farm capable of producing more than £3 million worth of the drug a year has been found on Merseyside.

The farm was discovered as part of an ongoing operation which aims to crackdown on serious and organised crime.

Police raided a flat above a shop in Fairfield where they found around 800 plants, growing equipment and dangerous electrical equipment in several rooms.

A man, 44, and two woman, aged 26 and 24, were inside the property and were arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and abstracting electricity. They remain in custody.
