Police arrest man after dog is stabbed during a burglary
Police in Manchester have confirmed they have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the stabbing of a dog on March 19.
Police were called to reports of a burglary at a house on Kylemore Way, Beswick, Manchester on Saturday March 19 after 8.30pm.
On attendance officers found that the family pet, a Shar Pei dog, had been repeatedly stabbed by the offenders during the burglary.
A 25-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remains in police custody for questioning.
The news comes after Boo, a five-year-old Shar-Pei, was found by her devastated owner, Maggie Burgess, in a ‘bloodbath’ at their home in Beswick on March 19.
The sick thieves stabbed her in the head, neck and back and she is now due to undergo major surgery. Thankfully, vets don’t think her condition is life-threatening.
Maggie, 57, who has had Boo for just six months, believes she was attacked because she bravely tried to defend her home - and may have attacked the burglars.
