Photos of The Smiths displayed at new exhibition in Salford

The work of a photographer who made the Salford Lads club synonymous with The Smiths will be displayed in a new exhibition.

Stephen Wright captured the band's album cover for 'The Queen is Dead' 30 years ago and it became one of the most iconic photos in music history.

Wright began his career as a live music photographer. He has photographed some of the biggest names in the industry, including: Madonna, Prince, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and James Brown.

The exhibition, A dark day in Salford with The Smiths, opens this weekend.

The exhibition runs at The Lowry from April 9th to June 5th 2016.
