Man jailed for life for the murder of his partner
The partner of a woman from Southport, who police say had suffered 100 injuries, has been jailed for life for her murder.
Ann-Marie Cropper, 47, was found dead at her home in Royal Terrace last September.
She had "significant injuries" including to the head and chest.
Ian Gordon, 52, originally pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the first day of his trial but he changed his plea to guilty to murder.
He was today sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 20 years, at Liverpool Crown Court.
