Police are appealing for a van driver to come forward after a cyclist was knocked off her bike in Rivington at the weekend.

At around 2.55pm on Saturday, a 52-year-old woman was cycling with a friend when the friend has gone ahead of her and waited at the bottom of Moor Road, near a car park entrance at Anglezark.

The friend has then heard what sounded like a collision and went to investigate.

After cycling round a corner, she has seen her companion lying down on a grass verge. The woman suffered a fractured collar bone but has no memory of what happened to her and how she came off her bicycle.

Officers are trying to trace a white Volkswagen Caravella van with black alloy wheels which was seen in the area around the time of the incident.

It is described as having a partial registration of '65' with stickers on the rear, one of which said ‘Martin’ in green letters.
