Traffic collision leaves four-year-old boy "fighting for life"
Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Chadderton which left a four-year-old boy fighting for his life.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit were called to Burnley Street, Chadderton, at around 6pm on Thursday 18 February 2016 following reports that a four-year-old boy had been hit by a car.
The boy and his mother were crossing Burnley Road when he was struck by a Vauxhaul Astra travelling south down the road.
He was immediately taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital, where he has since undergone surgery for hip, leg and skull fractures.
He remains in a critical, but stable, condition.
The driver provided negative samples for both drink and drugs at the scene.
