A teenage boy saved the life of a runner after leaping from his dad’s van to give CPR at the side of the road.

Connah Holden was driving along the A666 in Bolton with his dad Tom when the drama unfolded.

Seeing a man collapsed on the ground, 15-year-old Connah put the First Aid skills he’s picked up at Army Cadets to the test. He treated the man until help arrived and he was eventually airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital where his condition is now stable.

The runner was one of 300 people taking part in the popular annual Anglezarke Amble, organised by the West Lancashire Long Distance Walkers.
