Man appears in court charged with murdering 36-year-old Leanne Wall
William Mack, 39, has appeared in court accused of murdering mum Leanne Wall.
Leanne, 36, was found dead at her home on Conway Avenue in Whitefield, Bury, after police received a report of a ‘concern for welfare’.Mr Mack was arrested on the hard shoulder of the M60 motorway shortly after the alarm was raised at 7.50am on Friday.
A post-mortem examination later revealed Ms Wall died as a result of ‘compression to the neck’, the court heard.
Mr Mack appeared before Bury and Rochdale magistrates court on Monday morning.He spoke only to confirm his name and tell the court clerk that he was of no fixed abode.A single count of murder was put to him by the clerk and he made no comment.
There was no application for bail.
The case was adjourned and Mr Mack is due to appear before Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday.

Mr Mack was remanded in custody then led away from the dock.
Neighbours paid tribute to Ms Wall after her death and said she lived on Conway Avenue with her toddler daughter, who is believed to be around 16-months-old.
They said police carried the little girl out to a neighbour’s home after the alarm was raised.
Ms Wall’s family paid a touching tribute, saying she was a ‘loving mother, daughter and sister and a great friend to so many’.
