A family was left terrified after raiders broke into his pub and took off with cash.

The robbery happened just after midnight on Friday morning, three men wearing masks climbed over the rear gate of Ye Golden Lion pub on Old Market Street in Blackley and went into the living part of the area.

They assaulted the landlord, a 45-year-old man, who was watching television and demanded cash and the key to a Mini that was parked outside.

They ordered the man to disconnect the CCTV system before kicking in the door to the office where they removed cash from the safe.

A 16-year-old boy who had been upstairs at the time came down to confront one of the offenders but was assaulted by the others and forced into the living room. They then took the cash and made off in the Mini.

The Mini was abandoned shortly afterwards on Routledge Walk in Harpurhey.

The offenders are described as white men aged in their 20s. One is described as stocky while the other two are described as slim. They were all wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. One was wearing a 'Scream' style mask, while one was wearing a distinctive dark grey Adidas hooded top with three darker stripes on the hood.
