Tony Barton is tattooed from head to toe
Tony Barton says he is inked up from head-to-toe – and says the only body part that has escaped the artwork is, as he puts it, ‘the old fella’, along with his face and feet.
The 55-year-old has had his body covered four times with tattoos, all of which carry an Asian theme.
He has dragons, tigers, gods and buildings inked into his skin, and he believes that over the years he’s acquired tens of thousands of pounds worth of art.
Tony, who has lived between Pattaya in Thailand and Manchester for the past 18 years, says he struggles to go anywhere without people asking to take a photo of his tattoos.
He said he used to be a bit of a tearaway, and got his first tattoo when he was just 12.
Tony, who grew up in Reddish, Stockport, has three children in Thailand and five in England.
He says he doesn’t even have to pay for the artwork anymore.
It now seems that Tony’s love of tattoos has passed on to his younger children and claims his youngest son, who is 13, was once sent home from school for drawing Koi carp on himself to be like his dad.
Tony, who is currently working in security in Cheadle, says he will be working in Manchester for the next few months.
