Flood-proof funding for Ribble Valley residents
Residents of the Ribble Valley who were affected by recent floods could be given up to £5,000 to protect their homes from future flooding.
Under the Household Flood Resilience Grant Scheme, households affected by Storms Desmond and Eva can apply for the funds to help make their properties more resistant and resilient to flooding.
The funding is intended to help property owners put measures in place to provide additional protection to repairs that would normally be covered by insurance.
The scheme will fund resistance measures designed to help keep water out and resilience measures, which are internal modifications intended to reduce the damage caused by flood water.
Measures could include the installation of airbrick covers, sewerage bungs, toilet pan seals, non-return valves, water-resistant mortar, door guards, flood doors, raised ovens, waist-height power sockets and wall-mounted boilers, as well as the waterproofing of external walls.
You can apply for funding online via the Ribble Valley Borough Council website or by calling 01200 425111.
