Power restored to majority of homes in Cumbria
Engineers from Electricity North West say power to all but a few remaining properties in Cumbria has been restored.
More than 170 engineers have been carrying out repair works throughout the weekend.
A small number of properties are still flooded, or the damage is so bad that they will be uninhabitable for months and electricity cannot be restored safely.
Flood defences at Carlisle and Kendal's main electricity substations protected power supplies to 110,000 properties, but a number of smaller substations and many properties were flooded.
Electricity North West has now completed repairs at all it sites.
