Police to move out of Bosley blast site

Cheshire Police have said they are ready to start moving out of the site of the Bosley mill explosion.

Derek Moore, 62, Dorothy Bailey, 62, William Barks, 51, and Jason Shingler, 38 were killed in the blast. Mr Shingler’s body has never been recovered.

The say over the next four to six weeks, they will withdraw from the site and the demolition of the remaining buildings related to the search and recovery phase will stop. This will formally bring the search and recovery operation to a close.

The families of those killed have been told that the operation will be scaled down, and police say they will continue work to establish exactly what happened.

Cheshire Police their investigation will continue into "the foreseeable future".
