Four arrested as police target £1.5m bank robbery gang

Four men were arrested in police raids early today as part of an investigation into bank robberies across the region.

The men, aged in their 30s, were held in south Liverpool by detectives from the Merseyside and Cheshire forces.

They're investigating 22 robberies over a seven year period in which a total of £1.5m was stolen.

Teams of officers executed search warrants at properties in Dingle, Toxteth, Aigburth and Garston simultaneously at 7am and detained suspects inside before carrying out extensive searches.
