Police helicopter captures the magic of Christmas market
As thousands of revellers headed to the Christmas markets in Manchester for the first time this year our region's police helicopter helped capture the magic from above.
The market has over 400 stalls offering international delicacies and goods from all over Europe spread across 10 different sites in the city.
First launched in 1999 with just a few chalets in St Ann’s Square, the markets are now a huge winter wonderland which includes chalets in Exchange Square, at the Grade II-listed Corn Exchange, on Market Street for a second year, as well as on Cathedral Gardens, Brazennose Street, King Street, St Ann’s Square, Exchange Street and New Cathedral Street.
