An inquest into Robert Hart who died after being punched at the Parklife Festival has heard he 'probably would have survived ' if he'd been transferred to a special unit sooner.

Salford Royal Hospital has today admitted the 26 year olds brain CT scan was 'misinterpreted ' and there were delays in his care.

Mr Meadows, the Coroner for central Manchester asked whether someonewith a reported head injury should have been automatically taken to Salford Royal, which had a neurosurgical unit.

Mr Hart had been punched to the ground at the festival and lost consciousness. An off duty midwife administer CPR and helped revive him.

He was taken by ambulance to North Manchester General and not transferred to Salford until the following day.

The Coroner said despite the issues in his care, it was not too late for someone to search their conscience and help the police find his attacker.

The hearing resumes tomorrow.
