Redmayne and Farell head to Liverpool to film Harry Potter prequel
After her overwhelming success with the eight Harry Potter films- the highest grossing film franchise of all time- author JK Rowling's latest creation 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them' will head to Liverpool for filming very shortly.
It's truly a huge compliment for the city centre as it's the films only non-studio location and will see the stars of the film and 530 cast and crew make Liverpool it's new home for the next few weeks. ?
The film is the prequel to the Harry Potter films and sees Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) starring as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist. He stops in New York following his journeys to find and document magical creatures for what will eventually become the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Other stars who you may spot around Liverpool who also star in the film are Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton.
The unique architecture of the city centres' buildings will act as a backdrop to the Warner Brothers film which is set in 1920's New York.
Liverpool is no stranger to major blockbuster movies being filmed in the city centre as recent films have included Captain America:First Avenger, Sherlock Holmes and even Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 1 was filmed there.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them will be released worldwide on November 18th 2016.
