Prime Minister goes for a curry in West Didsbury

David Cameron and his wife Samantha were spotted having dinner at a West Didsbury Indian restaurant.

The Prime Minister, who is currently in Manchester for the Conservative Party Conference, went to south Manchester with his wife for a curry at Saffron Lounge on Burton Road.

Customers took pictures of the pair as they tucked into a plate of poppadoms and dips on Tuesday night.

One customer said she was waiting to pick-up a takeaway when the Tory leader walked inside, accompanied by two bodyguards.

A manager at the restaurant said: “It was a once in a lifetime experience for us. They came in and they really enjoyed it.”

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson was also snapped enjoying a meal with his Conservative colleagues at San Carlo Fumo in the city centre.

The Conservative delegates have not had the easiest time since they arrived in Manchester.Party members have been forced to run past protesters to enter the conference venue in Manchester Cetral.

A total of 15 arrests have been made for public order offences and five people have been charged since the conference launched this weekend.Greater Manchester Police have also tightened security around the conference centre.
