A Liverpool fan who died in the Hillsborough disaster asked when the crush was going to stop, his inquest has heard.

Andrew Sefton, 23, had travelled to Sheffield from his mother's home in Skelmersdale.

A former classmate told the court he saw Andrew inside in pen 3 near a metal safety barrier.

John Hughes told the court: "He said, 'When is this going to stop?' I said, 'Yeah, it will stop any minute' and we were sort of chatting and then the bar went... I think we were all in distress because things were looking quite bad."

Mr Hughes said Andrew's face had started to become discoloured and he got the impression he wasn't getting enough oxygen.

The court heard that Andrew's mother, who had been a nurse for 20 years, identified his body in the early hours of the next morning and noted his face was still warm to her.
