Commemorations will take place this weekend to mark the one year anniversary of the murder of an aid worker from Salford.

Alan Henning was captured and killed by so-called Islamic State terrorists.

Tomorrow, Salford City Council will fly its flag to half-mast in tribute to the former taxi driver, and a private memorial will take place in his home-town of Eccles.

MP Barbara Keeley has also renewed calls for Mr Henning to be granted a posthumous award for his aid work.
