  • When is the new hospital fully open?

The move has been meticulously planned to ensure a safe and smooth transition for patients and families.

The hospital is moving over five days from 2nd to 6th October and will be fully operational at Alder Hey in the Park from 7th October.

Emergency services will continue to operate throughout the move.

  • If I need to visit the Emergency Department during the move, where do I go?

Use the Emergency Department at the current hospital until the early hours of Sunday 4th October. From the early hours of Sunday 4th October, use the Emergency Department at Alder Hey in the Park. Clear clear directions and support will be available to families and patients at this time.

  • What other services are in place if your child needs to see someone during the move period?

Although the emergency department will be open across the move weekend, families and carers are being urged to consider whether children really need treating in hospital.

Children can be seen at local pharmacies, GP practices, walk-in centres, and out-of-hours GP services.

To support Alder Hey, the walk-in centre at Smithdown Road will open from 8am to midnight on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.
