Premier League fixtures see tough start for North West sides
The fixtures for the new season of the Premier League have been released this morning and the four North West sides have been handed tricky starts on the opening weekend.
Manchester United are at home to Tottenham Hotspur in one of the most eye-catching fixtures of the first day.
Liverpool travel to the Britannia Stadium and Stoke City where they played their last game of last season and were beaten 6-1.
Man City start away at West Brom and then have a mouthwatering first home game of the season the following week against champions Chelsea who they are looking to win the title back from.
Meanwhile Roberto Martinez and Everton have a home start against newly-promoted Watford.
The North West teams face each other throughout the season home and away.
Man Utd and Liverpool are pitted against each other in the fifth game of the season at Old Trafford on the weekend of 12 September.
A little under a month later the first Merseyside derby takes place at Goodison Park as Everton take on Liverpool on October 3.
The first Manchester derby is also in October on the 24th also at Old Trafford.
At the end of February Liverpool host Everton at the weekend and play Man City at home in a midweek game within four days.
The second Manchester derby is later in March on the 19th.
