Sparkling stellar sights captured by local astronomers

Stunning photos from Manchester astronomers have shown just how much you can see in the night skies above the region.

The pictures taken by Heaton Park Astronomy Group and Stretford Facebook Astronomy Group include the Moon and Mars, plus far away galaxies.

The photos were taken using telescopes with camera attachments in Middleton, Manchester, Stretford and Bolton.
