Man clings to bonnet as car thief speeds off

CCTV has captured the moment a man clung to the bonnet of his car as a thief drove off at high speed in Bolton.

The victim was eventually flung into the road and was lucky to escape serious injury.

The man parked his brown Skoda alongside Starlight Bedrooms on Bloomfield Road, Farnworth on February 7th at around 3.20pm .

The 59-year-old man left the keys in the ignition but turned the engine off. Shortly afterwards a man who was walking past the car sensed an opportunity and ran back to the car and got behind the wheel.

The car owner managed to jump onto the bonnet but the thief carried on regardless, driving at accelerating speeds and eventually flinging the man off the bonnet and into the road.

The car was then driven along Bloomfield Road and out of sight.
