A school being built to help Syrian children back into education is to be named after Alan Henning, the aid worker from Eccles killed by Islamic State terrorists.

It is hoped The Alan Henning Academy, which will be built in the city of Mersin in Turkey, will help rebuild the lives of children exposed to the horror of war.

Alan Henning's family have reportedly given their blessing to the school, which aims to provide 250 children with access to free education.
