Queen's Baton Relay comes to the North West
The Queen’s Baton Relay will visit Manchester and Cheshire today, to celebrate the countdown to Glasgow 2014.
The Baton has already toured the Isle of Man on its journey through the nations and territories.
It will start out at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester from 08:30 to 10:00, head to the National Squash Centre between 10:00 and 11:00, and then head to Congleton.
Six Batonbearers have been chosen to represent Greater Manchester:
Lauren Toms, 19, New Moston (Swimmer)
Lee Whiteley, 24, Wythenshawe (Athlete)
Alan Boyle, 63, Stockport (Lacrosse)
John Gilmore, 44, Droylsden (Football Coach)
Valerie Zebrokova, 16, Fallowfield (BMX Rider)
Ralph Aldred, 64, Trafford (Cricket)
The Batonbearers chosen to represent Cheshire are:
Ann Brightwell, 72, Congleton
Jane Whetnall, 58, from Crewe
