Thousands expected at Fleetwood promotion party

Thousands of people are expected to turn out in Fleetwood tomorrow, to celebrate the town's promotion to League One.

Fleetwood Town FC is hosting a 'Party on the Pitch' event at Highbury Stadium from 1pm to 10pm.

It marks the club’s sixth promotion in 10 years.

There will be a civic reception at the ground as well as a community fun day, where local bands will entertain crowds, and children can join football tournaments.

The football club has decided against an open top parade.
