Firefighters expected to remain at scene of fire for days

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene of a fire at a recycling plant in Salford for several days.

The fire involves thousands of tonnes of waste at the plant in Duncan Street.

A plume of smoke has been visible for miles around and six fire engines remain at the scene this evening.

Firefighters are cooling the outside of the building to prevent it from collapse.
