Coronation Street actor William Roache has made his first public appearance since he was cleared of sex attack allegations.

Mr Roache, who plays Ken Barlow in the ITV soap, attended a meeting of the Circle of Love, a spiritual group in Manchester with his daughter Verity.

The actor has attended the group for several years and publically thanked them for their support following his aquittal at Preston Crown Court this week.

Mr Roache was cleared of rape and indecent assaults following a four week trial.

He expected to return to his role in Coronation Street later this year.
