Former Bolton Wanderers footballer Fabrice Muamba, will be officially unveiled as the honorary race starter for the Bupa Great Manchester Run today. He is aiming to raise money for charity Hearts & Goals by asking supporters to donate.

Fabrice nearly died after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch whilst playing for Bolton Wanderers against Tottenham last year.

At the race in May, Fabrice will have a team of 25 runners taking part on his behalf, one for each year of his life. The team, which will include Bolton Wanderers club chaplain, Phil Mason, will run for the Arrhythmia Alliance 'Hearts and Goals' campaign, which helps place lifesaving AEDs (automated external defibrillators) in communities.

Fabrice Muamba is aiming to raise money for Hearts & Goals by asking supporters to donate via his unique JustTextGiving code, FABS25, with all of the money raised during the Great Manchester Run going to Hearts and Goals and Arrhythmia Alliance.
