Granada's Fred Talbot arrested over historic child sex allegations

Detectives investigating reports of historic sexual abuse at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in Trafford have arrested Granada presenter Fred Talbot.

He was arrested today, Tuesday 9 April, on suspicion of three counts of indecent assault and four counts of inciting a child to commit acts of gross indecency.

He remains in police custody for questioning.

The offences relate to his time as a teacher at the school between the early 1970s to early 1980s, while the four alleged victims were pupils.

Police raided Mr Talbot's home in Bowdon in Cheshire after the New Year. He is a weather presenter on Granada Reports.
