A cold, clear night with a penetrating frost. Urban low temperatures of -3 c. Rurally as low as -6 c.

A beautiful, cold sunny start to the day. it will stay dry and fine, with sunshine becoming hazy during the afternoon. Very cold.

Next week stays cold and dry. There may be occasional light snow flurries in the Pennines from Wednesday night.
