An inquest is due to resume into the death of a 16-year-old girl from Cheshire who was killed in a hang-gliding crash.

Lois Preston, from Great Sankey in Warrington, was making a solo flight at Darley Moor Airfield in Derbyshire when the hang glider crashed to the ground in October 2011.

She was taken to hospital after the accident but died from her injuries.

A report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) following the incident found her hang glider rolled to the left as she was being towed by a light aircraft.

The tow line was released but Lois could not recover from the loss of control and crashed into the ground nose down.

Before the accident - on October 28 - Lois had sent a Tweet saying:

The one-day inquest will be held at Derby Coroner's Court.
