Drugs stolen from Manchester Royal Infirmary
A batch of drugs has been stolen from a hospital in Manchester.
At 8am on Monday December 24, staff discovered the burglary had taken place at Manchester Royal Infirmary on Oxford Road, Manchester.
Cabinets containing medication had been broken into and a number of glass ampoules containing Morphine, Diamorphine and Pethodine had been stolen.
The theft was committed sometime between 3am on December 22 and 8am on December 24.
Chief Inspector Sarah Jones said: ''We are working closely with staff at the hospital to identify when these items were stolen and who is responsible, and we are appealing for anyone with information to contact us.
"This medication, if not correctly prescribed and administered, could pose a serious risk if ingested.
"If anybody discovers these drugs, which are in the form of liquid inside small glass ampoules, please do not touch them but contact the police immediately."
