Treble Olympic champion Jason Kenny has pulled out of the sprint event at the Track Cycling World Cup in Glasgow after suffering a nasty crash in the keirin last night.

Kenny suffered skin abrasions after falling at 75 miles per hour while racing for another gold medal at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

He had been in a strong position with one lap to go and was making his move on the back straight when he lost his balance.

British Cycling sprint coach Iain Dyer said: "Jason is feeling very sore after his crash yesterday and didn't get much sleep last night.

"Having consulted with the team doctor, Jason has decided to withdraw from today's competition."
