St Chrysostom’s on Anson Road in Victoria Park has launched an appeal to raise funds to pay for a garden in the grounds of the Church. Canon Ian Gomersall, revealed the plans as a book of condolence was opened.

Winnie was a parishioner at the church and her funeral service will be followed by a private family burial. Mourners will be invited to add their tribute to the book of condolence.

Rev Gomersall said: "There has been a lot of sympathy in the community towards Winnie.

"People are sharing memories and many of the tributes have commented on her courage and determination. She was a fine person, very down to earth."

"We already have a tribute to Keith in the church so we thought it would be fitting to have something for Winnie, too," he said.
