More arrests over alleged sex abuse
It's thought a second child grooming ring has been uncovered in Rochdale.
Several men have been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a teenage girl over a a six-year period.
It follows the conviction of nine men from Rochdale and Oldham who were jailed this week for their parts in a sexual exploitation ring. The men had targeted vulnerable girls as young as 13. The girls were given alcohol and passed around various men for sex.
Police have today revealed they are looking into fresh allegations and released the following statement:
"Several men have been arrested in connection with a 2nd investigation into child exploitation. A 24 and a 26-year-old man were arrested on Friday on suspicion of sexual activity with a child. The arrest is a result of an inquiry into the sexual exploitation of a teenage girl by men since 2005.
In total nine men have been arrested aged between 24 and 38-years-old, on suspicion of sexual activity with a child. They have been bailed pending further inquiries."
