Peaceful protest organised against RNLI decision at Jersey's Boat Show

A gathering similar to this one on April 9th is organised for May 1st.

There will be another peaceful protest against the RNLI's decision to sack St Helier's Coxswain at the Boat Show this weekend.

Islanders are being encouraged to join the gathering at Albert Pier on Monday at noon, to show their support for Andy Hibbs and the crew members who resigned in protest at his sacking.

It comes after Lifeboat Coxswain, Andy Hibbs, was asked to stand down by the charity for breaching the RNLI code of conduct.

A gathering similar to this one on April 9th is organised for May 1st.

Following the decision all 25 volunteers at St Helier's lifeboat station walked out after claims Mr Hibbs, "has been bullied by senior management".

The organiser of this event, Paul Battrick also arranged the previous gathering, where hundreds of islanders came together.
