Mass resignation of St Helier Lifeboat crew

All 25 members of the St Helier Lifeboat crew have resigned along with five members of the admin & management team.

It follows a meeting between the boats Coxswain, Andy Hibbs and the RNLI where he was asked to stand down.

Jersey campaign group urges islanders not to donate to RNLI

A Jersey campaign group has defended its suggestion that people avoid donating to the RNLI at the Jersey Boat Show.

Jersey Action Group has urged visitors to the annual maritime festival not to pledge any cash to the charity, following the controversial sacking of the St Helier lifeboat coxswain, Andy Hibbs.

The entire lifeboat crew resigned from their roles following his dismissal earlier this month and Mr Hibbs has lodged an appeal against the decision.

A protest, to show support to the crew, has been arranged outside the Lifeboat station on Monday.
