Jersey Coastguard reassures islanders they're safe this Easter

All 25 members of the St Helier Lifeboat crew resigned last week.

Jersey Coastguard is reassuring islanders that they will continue to provide coverage of Jersey’s territorial waters over the Easter weekend.

The reassurance comes after last week's mass resignation of the St Helier Lifeboat Crew after their Coxswain, Andy Hibbs, was sacked by the RNLI.

They are urging all those out on the water, or making use of the coastline, to do so safely.

Jersey Coastguard say "stay safe, don't take any unnecessary risks and enjoy the weekend.”

We would like to reassure all those making use of the seas, and shoreline around Jersey over the Easter weekend that we are confident the Island has sufficient resource and we will continue to provide you with 24/7 coverage in our territorial waters.
